Neutrogena On-the-Spot Acne Treatment Review

Rating:  ★ ★ ☆ Pros Dries up zits Readily available at drugstores Cons Over-drying May not be suitable for sensitive skin Personal thoughts During my acne years, benzoyl peroxide was one of the very first topical treatment I wanted to get my hands on. Online reviews were promising and when you are battling acne, you would try absolutely anything and everything. This contains 2.5% benzoyl peroxide, not the strongest in the market at all. As much as I wanted to love it, it wasn't suitable for my sensitive skin. Yes it dried my zits, but made my skin peel, sore and patchy. Probably too strong for me. Because of this, my complexion looked more inflamed and "glossy", almost resembling a slight burn (wasn't painful though). Would suggest using this only as a targeted treatment i.e. apply just enough cream on zits. And be sure to moisturise, moisturise, moisturise!

VICHY IDÉALIA LUMIÈRE Illuminating Moisture Lotion Review

Rating:  ★ ★ ★ ☆ Pros Hydrates skin well Leaves skin looking radiant Absorbs into skin quite decently (will need some patting in) Readily available at drugstores Cons Product is slightly viscous and leaves face feeling a tad sticky. This goes away eventually after patting it in. A little pricier than other drugstore brands but still relatively affordable Personal thoughts I like how this product hydrates the skin, leaving it soft and supple. The slightly viscous and sticky product doesn't bother me much with religious patting and making sure the product absorbs. As for its "illuminating" effect, I would say my skin feels good after using this toner. Not so much brightening per se, but it does leave it feeling and looking vibrant.  However, I would think for its price (though not exorbitantly priced), you could get something comparable, that delivers and more affordable.

Bioré Keana Sukkiri Nosehead Pore Pack (White) Review

Rating:  ★ ★ ★ Pros Easy and quick to use Readily available at drugstores Cons Not the most effective on stubborn blackheads Nose strips' pulling effect may be harsh on the skin and pores Personal thoughts I have some blackheads but they are the softer, stubborn ones that don't come off as easily. The product unfortunately doesn't work well with these. Conversely, I tried this on a friend and the results were amazing! He has blackheads that are thicker, harder and more prominent. Will recommend applying toner after using nose trips to calm the skin and close up pores

Nivea Intensive Moisture Body Milk Review

Rating:  ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Pros Absorbs quickly into skin Doesn't leave a sticky after-effect Leaves skin feeling hydrated, soft and supple Comes with a pump for easy application Readily available at drugstores Cons No SPF Personal thoughts I love this and have been repurchasing This products spreads and absorbs so well I hardly noticed any sticky residue Hydrating! My skin isn't as scaly anymore :) I observed this the most at my shin area where it used to be quite dry Best used right after showering, when skin is still damp

ICM ACNE CLEAR Pimple Treatment Cream Review

Rating:  ★ ★ ★ ☆ Pros Doesn't over-dry skin Doesn't irritate the skin as much as other stronger acne treatment products. Good to note for those with sensitive skin! Keeps acne down Relatively more affordable than other acne treatment products Readily available at drugstores Cons It's a pink cream and may stain clothes, so be careful! Leaves a matte finish that may be a little noticeable to wear out Personal thoughts This has been my go-to acne treatment cream for a couple of years. It's relatively affordable and isn't as strong as benzoyl peroxide that flakes my skin quite terribly. Best to leave it overnight and it works drying up the zits and keeping inflammation down Best used when zits are JUST about to emerge (bump stage) Personal experience is that you won't see it work wonders i.e. you won't see the zits gone next morning (except maybe for the tiny emerging ones), but it does a decent job keeping things down. ...

TSURURI Mild Sea Clay Pack Review

Rating:  ★ ★ ★ ☆ Pros Doesn't over-dry skin Leaves skin feeling soft and smooth Product's consistency is thick and smooth; easy to apply evenly over skin Alcohol-free, fragrance-free, mineral oil-free Readily available at drugstores Cons Can be quite messy rinsing product off Has a strong "plastic-ly" smell No significant effect on blackheads, pores, etc. Personal thoughts I use this routinely, 1~2 times a week. I use it too, if I notice my skin starting to get a little problematic e.g. emerging bumps, pimples. Don't expect wonders that this product will heal them. But it does a decent job drawing them out and maintaining the skin from further outbreak. Unlike other clay masks, this doesn't dry my skin out. It actually leaves it feeling smooth. A nice kick-start to the subsequent skincare regime e.g. toner, etc. I don't see much effect diminishing pores though. Nor removing blackheads. But overall a decent produc...

L'Oreal Extraordinary Oil Eclat Imperial High Shine Oil (Pink) Review

Rating:  ★ ★ ★ ★ Pros Absorbs fast No greasy residue in hair after application Comes with a pump for easy application Smells of roses! Readily available at drugstores Cons Leaves hands slightly greasy after application You may not like the strong smell of roses Small, bulky (thick, glass-like bottle) packaging Personal thoughts I really wanted to love this product since I was happy how its counterpart,  L'Oreal Extraordinary Oil (Brown) , worked. Unfortunately I'd much prefer the latter as it is more hydrating. Didn't tame my hair ends as much as would like it to Smells GREAT though! Works best applying after blow drying hair, when hair is still slightly damp. Takes about 1-2 full pump for my middle-length hair. The product absorbs fast so the "greasy" feeling will go away quickly However if you're looking for something more moisturising and works deeper into the strands, definitely give it's other version  L...

L'Oreal Extraordinary Oil (Brown) Review

Rating:  ★ ★ ★ ★ Pros Absorbs fast No greasy residue in hair after application Softens hair Tames dry, frizzy hair ends Comes with a pump for easy application You may like the smell Readily available at drugstores Cons Leaves hands slightly greasy after application You may not like the smell Small, bulky (thick, glass-like bottle) packaging Personal thoughts I don't exactly love the smell of this but I like that it works! My hair tends to be dry and frizzy, especially at the ends and this tames them well Works best applying after blow drying hair, when hair is still slightly damp. Takes about 1-2 full pump for my middle-length hair. The product absorbs fast so the "greasy" will go away quickly If I have to choose, I can do without a conditioner but keep the hair oil :) This works better than L'Oreal's Eclat Imperial High Shine (Pink)

Bioderma Sensibio H2O (Make-up Removing Micelle Solution) Review

Rating:  ★ ★ ★ ★ ☆ Pros Formulated for sensitive skin Gentle on the skin No residue  No rinsing required Readily available at drugstores Cons Definitely pricey Personal thoughts This doesn't irritate the eyes Able to remove my waterproof makeup e.g. eye liner. That being said, I also felt it's much gentler than other makeup remover e.g. Bifesta's . I would still rinse my face after use. Am a little skeptical about missing this step since I have very sensitive skin that's prone to breakout. Works great for my sensitive skin - cleans well whilst gentle on the skin. No tingly feeling. Takes about 2-3 cotton pads to completely remove my makeup It is pricey but I would repurchase due to my sensitive skin. If you aren't particular about this, you could get a much affordable makeup remover that's also micellar water-based.

Naturvital Sensitive Frequent Use Shampoo (Chamomile) Review

Rating:  ★ ★ ★ ☆ Pros Lathers well Free from  parabens, preservatives, silicones Doesn't over-dry hair Formulated for sensitive scalp and frequent use You may like the smell of camomile Readily available at drugstores Cons Doesn't come with a pump You may not like the strong smell of camomile It doesn't leave your hair feeling soft like some shampoos do  Personal thoughts I love the smell! In fact, I repurchased this a couple of times because I simply love that scent of camomile. This is not a shampoo with that "wow" effect of keeping your hair soft, bouncy and tangle-free. On the contrary, I do love that honest, guilt-free wash that doesn't take a toll on my hair. Does a decent job maintaining my hair. I've also noticed less hair fall.  I would think this product is better suited for hair types that already require less maintenance. For damaged hair, this is not a shampoo for repair.
